1. I praise God for carrying me through 2011. There were many difficult things this year, but He was there for all of them.
2. I praise God for 2012. I am eager to see what blessings this next year will bring.
3. I praise God for good books. I have been reading a fantastic one lately that I have to force myself to put down. I really enjoy reading and I am very thankful for it.

12.30.2011
1. I praise God for His protection last night. As the night progressed, we were able to analyze the situation with my neighbor and came to some very unattractive conclusions. The cops never found the offender, but he never came back, for which we are very thankful to God.
2. I praise God that I was sharing a bed with my husband last night. I am always thankful for it, but after the way things happened last night, I wouldn't have gotten the little bit of sleep I did if it weren't for him being right next to me.
3. I praise God for the peace that comes with prayer. I was still so anxiouslast night this morning when we tried to sleep that I couldn't calm my thoughts or my heart. But, after about twenty minutes of very intense praying, I was able to drift off into the couple hours of rest I was able to receive.
4. I praise God for new life. I found out today that a friend of mine is pregnant. What a joy to hear something like that after a night like last night.

1. I praise God that my son wasn't feeling well so I stayed in tonight instead of going to my sister-in-law's house. Had I gone to my s-i-l's, I wouldn't have been home when my neighbor came knocking on my door because someone was trying to break into her house. I am so thankful I was able to be home for her.
2. I praise God that I live in Texas. We have the Castle Law; I have the right to use any means necessary to protect me and my family. Anyone who tries to break into my house will be staring down the barrel of my husband's shotgun.
3. I praise God that my neighbor and her son are ok and that none of their property was damaged or stolen.

1. I praise God for the days when I don't feel very well. They help me to better appreciate the days I do.
2. I praise God for my bosses. They are kind people who are rooting for me to succeed. I have had bosses before that were not that way, so I know what a blessing it is to have that.
3. I praise God for the quiet evening I had last night. I sat listening to music with only the Christmas tree lights on and it was very much needed after the chaos of the long holiday weekend.

1. I praise God for every referral I get out of my territory. It is always so exciting when one of my referral sources sends a patient to our hospital; it makes me remember why I am out there banging on doors day after day.
2. I praise God for playtime with my son. The older he gets the more entertaining playtime becomes.
3. I praise God for my washer and dryer. It is so nice to be able to do laundry in my own home. I spent many years toting my laundry to a laundry mat, so I truly do appreciate the convenience of having my own washer and dryer.

1. I praise God for His forgiveness. I am so unworthy for it, yet require it daily.
2. I praise God for family. I have some pretty awesome people in my family and am very thankful for them.
3. I praise God that He is in control. I often struggle to be, but He takes care of things so much better than I am able to.

1. I praise God for family prayer. There is something powerful about a family praying together.
2. I praise God for safe travel. We have traveled well over 200 miles the last couple of days for our Christmas gatherings, but have made to our destinations with no problems.
3. I praise God for my home. There truly is no place like home.

1. I praise God for the time we were able to spend with my family today. Some of it was a little rushed and it was in multiple places, but all the visits were enjoyable.
2. I praise God for the excitement my son has had pertaining to Christmas this year. It has really made it so much fun.
3. I praise God for the Child that was born unto us many years ago. The Child who would one day stretch His arms out and bear the weight of the sins of the world upon His shoulders. The Child through whom my salvation was made possible. That is the greatest Christmas present ever given.

1. I praise God for the easy WalMart trip we had tonight. For the amount of people there and the closeness to Christmas, we were in and out very quickly. We also made it through two lines in half the time it takes to normally go through one. Very thankful that outing didn't have to be a stressful one.
2. I praise God for soft winter clouds. Today was especially beautiful and I found myself in awe at His creation.
3. I praise God for the extended holiday weekend we have. It really helps with all the family events going on.

1. I praise God for His awesomeness. Through a holy utterance, all life began. He placed the stars in the sky and sculpted the mountains, yet He cares about the little things in my life. I can't begin to wrap my mind around how awesome He truly is.
2. I praise God for my Christmas bonus. I received a turkey and a ham from my company today. It wasn't the financial bonus I have been used to from other companies in the past, but I am truly grateful. Between the two, I have an extra 20lbs of meat in my freezer; if I am a creative cook, that can feed my little family for over a week. What a blessing.
3. I praise God for the early bedtime my husband has mandated tonight. Last night I was up way too late getting things prepared for Christmas and could very easily be up at least as late again tonight. But, we have decided to go to bed and be well rested so we don't exhaust ourselves. I am looking forward to a full night's rest.

1. I praise God for the joy my son possesses. He brightens our lives each and every day with his joy and I am so very thankful for it.
2. I praise God for mercy. Enough said.
3. I praise God for the kindness that is brought out in this holiday season. There is so much ugliness that the season brings out, which makes the kindness that much more beautiful.

1. I praise God for Christmas lights. They are so pretty and I feel like a little girl again whenever I gaze upon them.
2. I praise God for my husband helping with dinner. Even when it's just picking up something to bring home, it is nice when I get to have a break in the kitchen.
3. I praise God that we have many presents to go under our Christmas tree. I know there are many families who will not have anything (and may not even have a tree) and I am so thankful that we can have presents under our tree.

1. I praise God that my job allows me to help people. It is definitely one of the better parts of my job.
2. I praise God for my sitter and her family. They are so wonderful and my son loves them so much. They are truly an answer to prayer.

12.18.2011
1. I praise God that He has never broken a promise. I have had my fair share of promises made and subsequently broken to me, so it is very comforting to know that God will never do that to me. He is the same God yesterday, today and tomorrow.
2. I praise God for all the many things I take for granted throughout the day. Small things like having a toothbrush, dishes, an assortment of clothing, and so many more things, I rarely stop to acknowledge how wonderful those things are. However, all of those little things add up to make a big difference in my life and I am thankful for each and every one of them.
3. I praise God for the weekends. They go by way too fast and I never get everything I desire accomplished during that time, but I am so grateful for that break from work each week to fully focus on life outside of the job.

1. I praise God for my birthday. Twenty-seven years, today; thirty-one for my big brother. I am thankful God has continued to keep me alive.
2. I praise God for my Nana. She went home to the Lord a year ago today. She was one of the most influential women in my life and had a huge impact on my faith. I love her so much and miss her dearly.
3. I praise God for my baby sister. She surprised me with an evening of babysitting, allowing my husband and I to go have dinner and do some shopping together. We didn't go anywhere fancy, but it was really nice to have a birthday dinner just the two of us. That was such an awesome birthday surprise and I am so thankful for her kindness.
In honor of my Nana:
"God of My Fathers" by Andrew Peterson
God of my fathers
Huddled in the harbor
Every man an ocean from his home
Their captors could not keep them
When they heard the drums of freedom
The dream of a kingdom
In a land they've never known
And God of my fathers
Strangers in this country
Pilgrims on these dusty roads
Across the great plains
In the bellies of the steel trains
To stake a new claim
In that wilderness of hope
Like my fathers I am looking for a home
Looking for a home beyond the sea
So be my God and guide me
Till I lie beneath the hills
Then let the great God of my fathers
Be the great God of my children still
God of my grandfathers
Gone these many years now
I guess they're shining like the sun
And I envision them
Grinning at the finish
And they smile and they smile,
'Cause they love to see me run
Now we're counting stars and counting sand
Little feet and little hands
We're counting joys
We pray you'll know them
As you knew us when you wove us
As you hold us Hold them, please hold them
Like their father, they are looking for a home
Looking for a home beyond the sea
So be their God and guide them
Till they lie beneath these hills
And let the great God of their father
Be the great God of their children, Let the great God of my fathers
Be the great God of my children still

1. I praise God for the current success of my hospital. We have been so busy this week and my day today was thrown askew because of it, but those are good problems to have.
2. I praise God for the sunshine today. I was thankful for the rain, but the sunshine on my face after a few days of clouds and rain really felt nice today.
3. I praise God for difficult emotions. They drive me deeper into His arms and that is the best place to be.

1. I praise God for the anniversary my father is celebrating today. Eighteen years and he's still going strong. I am proud of you, Daddio.
2. I praise God that I have found contentment in my life. I do not have a bright shiny car or a big beautiful home, I am not in my "dream job" or jet-setting across this beautiful world, but I can see all the many blessings that have been poured down upon me. Rather than spending my time wishing away my blessings on something different, I have learned to see how blessed I am.
3. I praise God for His protection. Today, in my work travels, there were many moments that came very near to an accident, but I managed to make it home safely.

1. I praise God for puddles. It seemed my feet landed in every one that came across my path today; I spent the day with soaking wet, cold feet. However, I have not forgotten the many prayers for rain over the summer. Just because God's blessings don't come in my time frame doesn't mean they carry any less of His goodness.
2. I praise God that my hospital is doing well. Our census is staying high and our patient care is even better. It is so nice to work for a company that has a great reputation for providing quality care and good patient outcomes; it makes my job much easier.
3. I praise God for my sweet husband. The last two days he has been able to tell that I am at my emotional time of the month and has been very sweet about it. By the time I got home today, I had stepped in countless puddles, the wind blew my car door shut on my foot, my hair looked like an unruly Chia pet, I smashed my pinkie finger and had multiple other things not go my way. I was in pain, frazzled and rapidly approaching a bad mood when he just took me into his arms and hugged me. Sometimes, I can be a little silly, but God gave me a man who knows how to handle my character flaws. That's pretty awesome.

1. I praise God for closure. I received some about something today and it feels really good.
2. I praise God for the sweet men and women that come to my exercise class every Tuesday morning at the Senior Citizen Center. They have been such a blessing to me these past few months. Today they surprised me with a Christmas card and a gift. I am growing very fond of that group of people.
3. I praise God for precious moments with my son. Not a day goes by that my husband and I aren't amazed at how much that little boy can make our hearts swell with love. What an incredible blessing he is.

1. I praise God for my oldest nephew. Today is his eighth birthday. I remember falling head-over-heels for him the day he was born. We don't spend as much time together as we did when he was a toddler, but he will always hold a special place in my heart.
2. I praise God for the amount of love my son has in his heart. He is always hugging what he loves: his stuffed animals, his trains, his cars, family, the window when there are birds in our yard, our animals... the list goes on. He receives such a pure joy from the things he loves; I receive such blessings for watching him love his world.
3. I praise God for hot showers on cold days. What a blessing to be able to be clean and warm.

12.11.2011
1. I praise God for my animals. We have too many and I tire of the amount of hair around my house and poop in the litter box, but they are all furry balls of love. Almost everyone of them was a rescue and is special to us for their own reason. I couldn't get rid of a single one of them and I dread the day when their times come (especially since they are all very close in age.) My life would not be the same if it weren't full of animals to love on (and drive me nuts each day!)
2. I praise God for our couch. It is one that has recliners at both ends and it works perfectly for my husband and I to curl up on for a nap. I take a recliner, he puts his head in my lap and stretches across the couch, then we both blissfully drift to sleep. Earlier today, we were joined by our son curling up with us. I treasure those moments so deeply.
3. I praise God for early bedtimes. Today was a "blah" day at our house; we were all sleepy and dragging in energy, so it was mostly spent lounging around and cuddling (no complaints there.) Our son is already in bed and I am pretty sure my husband and I are hitting the hay early, too. We have a long next couple of weeks ahead of us and a good night's rest is in order.

1. I praise God for humility. I don't always wear it gracefully, but I am frequently reminded of the importance of being humble.
2. I praise God for my hearing. I can't imagine going through life without ever hearing a baby's laughter. I think that is one of the sweetest sounds in the world and I am so thankful every time I get to hear it.
3. I praise God for my son. He brings so much laughter, joy and love into our home. He has been such a blessing to us.

1. I praise God for conviction. It is the first step towards repentance.
2. I praise God for His forgiveness. The sacrifice that was made on the cross to cover my sinfulness is the most incredible blessing of all.
3. I praise God for organization. My husband and I have been working on decluttering and organizing our house and it feels so good to get everything in order. I think it has been very cathartic for the both of us.

12.08.2011
1. I praise God for my husband. Thirty years ago, today, my mother-in-law labored to bring a precious little baby into this world who would eventually grow up and be my husband. Every life is a gift, but I am extra thankful for my husband.
2. I praise God for my crock pot. It is actually my husband's crock pot that had been given to him by his grandmother when she got a new one. The crock pot is old and well used, but it works amazingly and helped me to make a delicious dinner for my husband's birthday without having to exert extreme amounts of energy. (It also helped us to have dinner before 6:00, which wouldn't have happened if I had to cook the corned beef roast after getting home.) God bless the person who invented the crock pot!
3. I praise God for family dinners. I love when my husband, son and I sit down for a meal as a family. We hold hands to say "grace" and then all stay at the table until we're all finished. It is a wonderful way to come together as a family and have a little bit of "down time."
4. I praise God for the beauty that is found in His Creation. All around me, I see beauty that is bellowing praises to the Creator. He is the most amazing artist there ever was.

12.07.2011
1. I praise God that He has transformed me. There are still many things to be worked on, as I still wage daily battles against my flesh, but He has truly changed me in so many ways. The deeper I fall into Him, the more He fills me; the more He fills me, the better person I become.
2. I praise God for revelations. Sometimes they come through His word or a sermon, sometimes a Christian book or song and other times, they just come. However they come, I am always thankful for the insight and wisdom that come from them.
3. I praise God for my nieces and nephews. I got to have lunch with two of my sisters-in-law and 5 of my 10 nieces/nephews today. For some reason, they were extra lovey and clingy today. I had such a great time with them. I was smiling the majority of the afternoon from it.
4. I praise God for the way my son is when he is sleep deprived. Last night, he didn't sleep well and didn't get a long enough nap today, so this evening, he was a little crazy. The sleep deprivation increases whining, but the hysterical laughter and insane bursts of energy that come from him balance it out. I don't look forward to the sleep deprived days, but the entertainment that comes in-between the fussy moments makes them much more bearable.

1. I praise God when I am given an opportunity to be a blessing to someone. Today, I had the opportunity to feed a homeless man. I was on my way to a meeting for work when I saw a man begging on the side of the road in 36 degree weather. When I feel led to help and have the resources, I always do. It is not my place to judge why that person is living on the streets, but it is my place to follow God's leading to help and minister when possible. I did not have money to give the man, but I did have a couple dozen mini breakfast pastries left over from the special treat I picked up for my morning exercise class. I couldn't give them out elsewhere, so I had planned on taking them home, but when I saw the man, I knew the pastries were not coming home with me. I called the man over to my car and offered the food to him. His eyes filled with tears as he accepted my gift. I am so thankful God placed that man in my path today.
2. I praise God for the way being a parent has helped me to deeper understand God's love for me. Through being a parent, I have been able to have a firmer grasp on unconditional love. It has also helped me to understand the grief that is caused by rebellion and the consequential discipline. Being a parent is the most difficult thing I have ever had to do and I often wonder why God thought me fit to be responsible for raising a child, but it has blessed me beyond my wildest dreams.
3. I praise God for warm soup on a cold day. Simple comforts are often some of the most powerful ones.

1. I praise God for His Word. Every time I read my Bible, I walk away changed. I learn, grow, heal, receive comfort. The truth in His Word is the best medicine.
2. I praise God for my home. It may be humble, but it keeps my family protected from the weather. When I woke this morning to see a blanket of snow on the ground, I immediately was thankful to have a home to keep me warm when the outside was so very cold.
3. I praise God for progress. Moving forward in the right direction is a very wonderful thing.

1. I praise God that I do not live in a country where practicing Christianity is illegal. I think a lot of Americans take for granted being able to wake up every Sunday and go praise Jesus Christ; I know I often forget how fortunate I am to have that freedom. Today, however, I am very aware of how blessed I am to live in a place where I don't have to fear legal ramifications of claiming Christ as my Lord and Savior.
2. I praise God for cold, rainy days. The best part about them is knowing the sun is still shining, just behind the clouds. Just because I can't see it, doesn't mean it's not still burning brightly with all it's God-given glory.
3. I praise God for the communion experience I had at church this morning. I have partaken in many a communion, but I have never had a communion like the one we had this morning. It was a very neat experience and I am so thankful I was there for it.

1. I praise God that my bonus check finally came through. Tonight, my husband and I went grocery shopping and spent more money in one shopping trip than either of us had ever spent. We really just restocked our house, we didn't spend anything extra on unnecessary items, but everything seemed to run out at the same time and we actually had to money to buy it all at the same time. It is really nice to know that I do not have to go to the grocery store for another couple of weeks for anything. (I am not a fan of being in any retail setting this time of the year.)
2. I praise God for the extra sleep my family got this morning. We all had a late morning, but it was obviously needed. The cold, rainy weather probably contributed to our slow morning.
3. I praise God for His strength. When I am weak, the glory of His strength is able to shine through me. He is so much stronger than I could ever hope to be without Him and I am so thankful He is willing to strengthen me in my times of weakness.

1. I praise God for peaceful Friday evenings. It has been a long week back after the holiday weekend and it was nice to "chillax" tonight.
2. I praise God for His provisions. Sometimes, I look at my bank account and I see only a couple loaves of bread and a few fish; but somehow, He manages to spread the little I see and there always ends up being enough.
3. I praise God that I can choose joy and happiness. There are many things in life that I will never have control of, my attitude is not one of them.

1. I praise God for sunshine peaking through clouds. I have always loved seeing the rays streaming out from behind grey clouds; there is something very ethereal about it. God is such an amazing artist.
2. I praise God for spiritual growth. It is not always comfortable, but the end result is always a good one.
3. I praise God for my job. It really is a good one and I know that I am beyond blessed to have a job period, let alone one I enjoy so much.
4. I praise God for His grace and mercy. Not a day goes by that I do not find myself in great need of it.

1. I praise God that my son is growing in his communication skills. We have been teaching him some sign language in addition to the other work on his speech and tonight, he used sign language to tell me he was hungry and wanted to eat. I didn't even prompt him on the sign! He came up to me and I asked him what he wanted and he signed "eat." I was so proud and when I acknowledged what he said, he became so excited that I knew what he wanted. It was such a great moment and I am so thankful to God for it.
2. I praise God for the productive evening I have had this evening. I still have a few dishes to wash and I need a shower, but everything else I wanted to accomplish this evening has been accomplished. Yay!
3. I praise God that there is laughter in my home on a daily basis. It is such a beautiful sound and I can't imagine how sad life would be without it.

1. I praise God for my wonderful husband. I woke up incredibly late this morning, stressed out because I barely had time to get ready, let alone tackle the pile of dishes I decided to put off until this morning. But, when I got to the kitchen to pack lunch, it was clean. My husband not only washed the dishes for me last night after I fell asleep, he also dried them, put them away and wiped down the counters. I am a blessed woman.
2. I praise God for my best friend (other than my husband, of course.) Today is her birthday. We have been friends for over a decade now and I treasure her friendship deeply. She is a true blessing to me.
3. I praise God for my productive day. I got a lot of things accomplished at work, came home and accomplished even more. It has been a good day.

1. I praise God for "Na, Boo, Gee." Those are my son's words for "One, Two, Three." He has been counting non-stop the last couple days. It is pretty awesome.
2. I praise God for my job. As hard as it was to come back from "vacation mode," I am so thankful to have a job during this season.
3. I praise God for the promises the future holds.

1. I praise God for our home. It isn't much and it still needs so much more work than my husband and I have already put into it, but it is ours. It was so nice today to be able to come home to our house. We had so much fun, but there truly is no place like home.
2. I praise God for warm chocolate chip cookies. My husband, son and I shared some this evening after we had gotten home. They were so delicious.
3. I praise God for the continued progress in my son's speech development. He is talking more and more every day and can even count to 5 on his hands in his own language. (He has a word for each number, 1-5; some of them sound like the real number, some not at all, but he is consitent with the use of the words and their meaning for them.)
4. I praise God that we were able to go to the family reunion. It was so much fun and I know how incredibly blessed my husband's family is to have been able to do that.
5. I praise God for my crazy boys. My husband and son are very energetic when they get to playing, but we all have so much fun being crazy together. Many laughs are shared in my home and that is such an incredible gift from God.

1. I praise God for the beautiful drive my husband and I had today. With all the family here, my husband and I were able to take a little bit of "us" time today during our son's nap time. We wanted to go for a hike, but the rain forced us to just take a cruise through this beautiful country. It was so nice and relaxing.
2. I praise God that there are washers and dryers in the cabins we stayed at the last few days. I was able to wash all the laundry we have dirtied up to this point, so I won't have a bunch of dirty clothes to wash when we get home.
3. I praise God that we will have leftover food to bring home with us. Not only will I not have to do laundry, but I won't have to cook when we get home, either. I am so thankful that the last day of my vacation will not be loaded with a bunch of work.

1. I praise God that I have been having such a good time at reunion that I didn't have the opportunity to do my post last night. It has been so nice and I am so thankful for this time.
2. I praise God for campfires. My husband and I sat our by the campfire until after midnight last night. It was so peaceful and relaxing.
3. I praise God for good food. It has been non-stop eating the last couple days and I know how incredibly blessed we are to be able to enjoy all of this wonderful food.

1. I praise God for family. My husband's family gathered for a family reunion today. What a joy it has been already to see everyone. So much love. It is just wonderful.
2. I praise God for safe travel. Everyone made it to the reunion safely, that is something to be thankful for.
3. I praise God for the beautiful day it has been. It hasn't felt at all like Thanksgiving, but it has been a wonderful day.

1. I praise God that I am taking the time to enjoy this vacation. I still have so much stuff to do before tomorrow afternoon, but I am getting stuff accomplished at a decent pace and am not stressing about everything. That is what a good vacation is all about: no stress.
2. I praise God that I can put my faith in Him. He has yet to let me down (and I know He never will) so I can continue to confidently put my faith in Him for all things in my life.
3. I praise God for little frustrations (like peeling 2 1/2 dozen boiled eggs.) They help me to practice my patience and keep things in perspective.

11.22.2011
- I praise God for lists. I have a lot of things to do and pack in the next couple days; without lists of everything to be accomplished, I know I would forget something and feel totally overwhelmed. I love being able to cross things off my lists. Tomorrow will have a lot of crossing off.
- I praise God for snotty kisses from my son. Not really a huge fan of the snot, but those kisses are so full of raw love from my child. What a blessing to have the love and adoration of a child.
- I praise God for my extra long weekend. Today is my “Friday” and I am off of work for the next 5 days. It is going to be a great weekend and I am so excited. This weekend, and the activities it holds, will truly be a blessing from God.

1. I praise God for all the sleep I got last night. I fell asleep before 9:00, woke up just before 11:00 (which is when I did yesterday's post) and was in bed before midnight. When my alarm went off this morning, I actually felt rested. What a blessing.
2. I praise God for raining evenings. Last night, it lulled me to sleep much earlier than planned; tonight, it is making me feel very cozy (and motivated to finish going through my closet and getting out all my winter clothes.)
3. I praise God for the progress I have already made this evening on my closet. My son took a late (and long) nap, so when I got home from work this afternoon I was able to get started. When he goes to bed in a couple of hours, I am going to return to my bedroom and finish. I am very excited to see all my winter clothes again. Cleaning my closet also provides another blessing: I will have another load of items to take to a charity resale shop!

2. I praise God for the good weekend I had with my boys. The weekend didn't work out as I had originally planned, but it worked out even better than planned.
3. I praise God for the short week this week. I will only be working two days, due to the holiday, and am very thankful that I have PTO to cover the time off.

1. I praise God for "family date day." Today, my husband, my son and I spent the day on a "date." We went to see a friend in the country, had pizza and spent the afternoon at the park. We all had a great time and it made for a wonderful day. What a blessing to be able to have such a great day with my boys.
2. I praise God for His healing. He truly can make everything new.
3. I praise God for beautiful fall days like today. Today was an incredibly beautiful day and I am so thankful my Lord allowed me to enjoy it.

1. I praise God for progress. Even baby steps in the right direction are worth rejoicing.
2. I praise God for my boys. My husband and my son are the two most important people in my world. They are both so precious to me and I am so thankful to God that they are a part of my life.
3. I praise God for the weekend. This weekend promises to be a very good, though full, weekend. I am so thankful for the time off of work so I can focus on my house and family.

1. I praise God for the beautiful drive I had today while working. I had to drive a long distance through beautiful countryside to get to the town I was marketing in today. On the way, there were so many trees with leaves changing into deep fall hues. My radio didn't pick up any of my stations, so I had a very quiet drive admiring God's art. So beautiful.
2. I praise God for revelation. It is so exciting when a light suddenly turns on and there is an understanding.
3. I praise God for His forgiveness. I truly would be lost without it.
4. I praise God for my son's development in his speech. My husband and I have been working with him almost non-stop when we are with him the last week and it is really starting to show some results. This is a huge answer to prayers.
5. I praise God for answers to prayers. It is so wonderful when I get to cross something off of my prayer list.

1. I praise God that my employer appreciates me. I had a meeting with my two immediate supervisors and my CEO/co-owner of the hospital today and had nothing but positive feedback. My CEO even told me that I am "a jewel." It feels really good to be appreciated (especially by the person who signs my check!)
2. I praise God for my two previous jobs that brought me to my current job. At the time, I was constantly stressed out and going crazy, but I see now the reason for that season in my life. Had I not gone through what I did, I would not have the knowledge that is making me so valuable to my current employer. I am so grateful I went through what I did to get to where I am.
3. I praise God for an early bed time. I have been very tired lately (and it is starting to make me grumpy.) Tonight, I intend on being in bed early to attempt to remedy some of that sleepiness.

1. I praise God for the truth. It may not always be easy to swallow, but it is so much better than lies.
2. I praise God that my love for Him is greater than my flesh. There are many times I want to act in ways that would be pleasing to my flesh, but not glorifying to God. However, my love for Him keeps me from acting in such ways many times; this is usually good as the fleshly desires usually do not produce positive long-term results.
3. I praise God for my son. He is such an incredible child and I feel so blessed God has trusted me with such a precious gift.

1. I praise God that He is bigger than any of the disappointments in my past. Not only is He bigger, but He can use all of them to make me a better person. His grace is amazing.
2. I praise God for the amount of stuff I have been able to get done around the house lately. I still have so many projects, but each day I feel closer to my ultimate goals for my home.
3. I praise God for the many mysteries I don't understand, and possibly never will. It is not intended for any man to understand everything and I am glad for that. All I need to really understand is that He is in control and He is Lord of my life; everything else is just minor details.

1. I praise God for quiet evenings with my husband. I am currently sitting in the shed he just built while he is working on filling it up. Periodically, he breaks and we chat for a few minutes. It is making for a very peaceful evening.
2. I praise God for books. I know I am so much more fortunate than a large part of the world because of the library of books my husband and I own. My son has more books than some people ever dream of owning. We are so incredibly blessed to be able to own and read so many books.
3. I praise God that He has a plan for every thing. Remembering that helps me to not stress so much about how certain things in life are going. I can remember He is trustworthy and give my stresses to Him. That is a pretty awesome God.

1. I praise God for hard work. My husband and I have been working hard around our house lately and it is really starting to show. Very thankful for the progress.
2. I praise God that I have all the hard work for dinner tomorrow night out of the way already. I took care of it tonight while cleaning up after dinner and now I will have an easier day tomorrow.
3. I praise God for my husband. He has been really wonderful lately and I am so thankful to God for that.

freedom
1. I praise God for the veterans we honor with Veterans' Day. If not for the sacrifices so many of them made, I would not have many of the freedoms I enjoy. I am grateful to them.
2. I praise God for the freedom I have from His sacrifice. His sacrifice was the greatest of all and nothing can take away the love that made that sacrifice.
3. I praise God for the time my son had at EC this semester. He really enjoyed it and I am so glad he was able to be a part of it. I am really looking forward to the spring classes.

1. I praise God for the progress I saw in my son's speech tonight. We talked back and forth with each other for nearly ten minutes. Almost every word he said was unintelligible, but I understood the general ideas he was conveying to me. It was great communication and a huge step forward. What an incredible blessing.
2. I praise God for my husband's boldness in his faith. This evening, we had a friend over for dinner who has expressed, very adamantly, his dislike of Christianity many times to us before. Just before eating, my husband took my hand and my son's hand and blessed our food. God is so good.
3. I praise God for so many things. All throughout the day, I have so many praises overwhelming my heart. He is so good and the more I think on how good He is, the more I want to just lift up my hands in thankfulness to Him.

1. I praise God for my husband. This morning, he woke up an hour before me, turned on the heater (so the house would warm up), took care of our son (including diaper changes and getting him dressed) and got my car ready and warming up for me. My morning was so relaxing. It was such a great way to start the day.
2. I praise God for walks to the post office with my son. It isn't a very far walk, but it takes about twenty minutes (or more) because it becomes a mini "nature walk" every time. We stop and look at the birds in the bushes, talk about the sky and the trees and explore our little world. I really enjoy those moments.
3. I praise God for my weaknesses. Through them, His strength and glory can shine.

1. I praise God for forgiveness. In all forms (His forgiveness, my forgiveness of others, others' forgiveness of me) it is such an incredible blessing in my life. I couldn't imagine life without it.
2. I praise God for knowledge. The more I learn, the more thankful I am for it.
3. I praise God that He is such an awesome God. He is the most important and vital thing in my life; I am so blessed to know him.

amazing
1. I praise God for the look on my son's face when he's looking at the sky (this includes stars, the moon, clouds, birds, airplanes, etc.) The look is one of amazement, joy, excitement, fascination and pure awe. I swear his eyes sparkle when he admires the sky. I like using that opportunity to help explain how amazing God is. Good God stuff.
2. I praise God for the radar and weather information available on the internet. I feel so much safer having the weather at my fingertips when severe weather is possible. Not having to wait for the television to share information with me and being able to look at things like storm tracks and speed of the storm help me feel more prepared in the event something may happen.
3. I praise God for the thousands of miracles that occur around me every day. I am in pure awe of His creation and power. He is absolutely amazing to me.

feeling better...
1. I praise God that my family is no longer sick. We have survived "Vomit-fest 2011." (Gross...) It makes me so thankful for our daily health.
2. I praise God for the "extra" hour this weekend. With the majority of it spent sick or recovering, it will be nice to wake up an hour "early" tomorrow to get some stuff done before work.
3. I praise God for my crock-pot. It sure made cooking a tummy-safe, nutritious meal much easier today. I needed all the help I could get today after yesterday.

more vomit...
1. I praise God that my husband and I waited to contract my son's stomach bug until he was better. It would have been so much harder to take care of a sick toddler with both of us being sick, too.
2. I praise God that my son is such a well behaved little boy. With us both being sick today, it could have been a real nightmare, but he didn't get in much trouble today and he was really sweet. He kept coming up to us to hug us and he even covered me with his blanket earlier. We are so blessed to have such a great son.
3. I praise God that I can still praise Him when I am spending the day hugging a bucket.

1. I praise God for AAA. I locked myself out of my car this morning, but didn't have to worry about what I was going to do; I just had to place a phone call and the rest was taken care of.
2. I praise God for the bonus I got from work today. I had no idea I was going to be getting one, they surprised us this morning on a conference call. The money is a huge blessing to us right now and I am so incredibly thankful for the job I have and the people I work for.
3. I praise God for 90.9 KCBI radio. I spent a long time alone in the car today and was able to listen to some really great programming. So very thankful to have a radio station I can listen to that brings me such peace and joy.

1. I praise God when I get a "bonus, mini bouquet" from the flowers my husband gives me. Today, I went to throw out the flowers he brought me home a couple weeks ago, when I realized there were still a few stems that looked quite beautiful. When this happens, I pull the few stems, re-cut them and put them in fresh water in a smaller vase, to create a "new" bouquet. It gives me a few more days to enjoy the beauty of the flowers.
2. I praise God that I have cooking knowledge. I enjoy creating meals from scratch for my family. Not only is it better tasting and better for us, but it brings me such joy and I am so thankful I can do that for my family.
3. I praise God for the little miracles that occur every day. I am so thankful that I am paying more attention to them. He is so good.

vomit, vomit, everywhere
1. I praise God that my son is no longer vomiting. He spent the better part of the day vomiting everywhere. There was so much vomit. I am pretty sure my house smells of vomit still, but I will deal with it later. Right now, I am just so thankful he is no longer getting sick.
2. I praise God that He loves me unconditionally. His is the only love I will never have to fear losing. What a comfort that knowledge is.
3. I praise God for difficult days, like today. They are the days I get stretched and pushed, but I know they are necessary for growth. I also know that God uses all things for the good of those who believe in Him. (Romans 8:28.) Even the difficult days are a gift from Him.

day 95...
1. I praise God for my exercise class at one of the local senior citizens centers. This morning, when I showed up, I received a round of applause. I always feel so good when I finish the class, because I see how much it means to the seniors who attend. My class has been steadily growing and it is greatly appreciated by those who attend. It really is a blessing to be a part of that.
2. I praise God for the fun my little family had in the back yard this evening. My husband and son were running around playing and I got to take pictures of them and our 3 dogs. It was really a great time.
3. I praise God for His love. Every day it becomes so much more evident to me. He is amazing and His love is the greatest gift.

happy halloween
1. I praise God that my husband and I were able to have a lunch date today. It wasn't anything special, but it was really nice to have it be just the two of us. Especially in the middle of the day, what a wonderful break from the normal pace of things. I sure do love him and I am so thankful God has kept us together.
2. I praise God that my son's costume came out so well. I had a couple of scary moments with it, but in the end, it was more than I expected it to be.
3. I praise God that my son had such a wonderful time tonight. It was his first time trick-or-treating and we went with some of his cousins. Every one was adorable and had a blast. What a great time.

praiseworthy
1. I praise God for the movie night my husband and I had last night. It's been a long time since we've sat and watched 3 movies together. We cuddled on the couch and fell asleep during the last one. What a good memory to have.
2. I praise God for that I had the opportunity to create my son's Halloween costume this year. We decided to dress him up as Michael Young, but couldn't find a jersey in his size, so I bought some items at WalMart and am almost done creating a Texas Rangers uniform. I am so excited to see him in it. I love doing craft-y things and this was the first time I created a costume for him. What a joy.
3. I praise God for my life. Just exactly the way it is, right now. With all the good and all the bad, for every single detail of my life, I praise Him. He is sovereign and I can trust Him wholly, so I praise Him. He is all I need--in Him, I have everything. He is my Provider, Protector, Redeemer, Savior. Praise be to Him, for without Him, nothing is praiseworthy.

with thanksgiving in my heart
1. I praise God that I can make my husband laugh, even when he's having a bad day. I love that I can make him laugh regardless of his mood.
2. I praise God that I am finding more joy in my life. My life is a chaotic mess of clutter, animals, diapers, dirty dishes, laundry and exhaustion, but those things are bothering me less and less as I am finding more and more joy in my daily life. (Yes, even when I am scooping poop out of the litter box, I am doing it joyfully.)
3. I praise God for the journey He is taking me down in this life. I am learning to trust Him for the future and spend more time in the present; it is making it so much more exciting.

10.28.2011
1. I praise God that I was able to watch Game 7 of the World Series with my husband tonight. My team may have lost, but I wasn't watching the game alone. For that, I am thankful.
2. I praise God that tomorrow is Saturday. With having been sick all week and the events of the evening, I am really looking forward to sleeping late tomorrow.
3. I praise God that my family is getting over the sickness that has plagued us all week. I am ready for us all to be feeling better and back to our normal selves.

90 days
90 days. 3 months I have been doing this, now. That's pretty amazing to me.
1. I praise God for answered prayers. More prayers that have been on my list for awhile have been answered. I love being able to take things off my list because God answered them.
2. I praise God for my job. I have been able to work from home while I have been sick, allowing me to save my PTO for the holidays and keep my paychecks regular.
3. I praise God for this crazy World Series game tonight. It has been absolutely nuts and just makes me love the game of baseball even more. I am so thankful to God for baseball.

sickness and answered prayers.
There is a cold or something raging through my home. My son, my husband and myself have all been plagued with it since last night. We have all been miserable, but there is still so much good in our lives.
1. I praise God for sleepless nights with a sick child. I would rather have a hundred sleepless nights with my child than a lifetime without a child. I am so thankful to be a mother.
2. I praise God for my husband's helpfulness with our sick child. It is so much easier to deal with sickness as a team.
3. I praise God for answered prayers. He answered a prayer in our lives today and I am very thankful. His answer came in a way that was unexpected, but perfect. (As always.)

the stuff
1. I praise God for my son. He is such a blessing and I am so thankful to have him. When I look at him, I see God's love for me.
2. I praise God for conviction. I like being shaped by Him.
3. I praise God that I am starting to see His gifts every where I look. I am seeing His love more and more each day.
4. I praise God for days where things seem to go against me. Even the seemingly bad days are a gift from Him.
"This Is The Stuff" Francesca Battistelli
I lost my keys in the great unknown
And call me please 'cause I can't find my phone
This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I've gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
Might not be what I would choose
But this the stuff You use
45 in a 35 sirens and fines
While I'm running behind
Whoa ho ho
This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that's getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess,
I forget how big I'm blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I've gotta trust You know exactly what You're doing
Might not be what I would choose
But this the stuff You use
So break me of impatience
Conquer my frustrations
I've got a new appreciation
It's not the end of the world
Whoa ho ho ho
Oooooh This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff
Someone save me
In the middle of my little mess

10.24.2011
1. I praise God for the times throughout the days when my husband says something sweet. Those sweet moments remind me of my husband's love, but more importantly, they remind me of God's love for me.
2. I praise God for days that start with vomit. My son was sick this morning at the sitter's. Not really the way I enjoy spending a Monday, but those days remind me of what it means to be a mommy.
3. I praise God for the times He humbles me. I like being reminded that He is in the driver's seat, not me.

a good day
1. I praise God for the accomplished day I was able to have today. I went to church, went to the store, cleaned the kitchen, did some laundry, helped my husband work outside and managed to cook an amazing Sunday dinner (baked chicken, brown sugar carrots, mashed potatoes and gravy, and steamed broccoli) and bake a bundt cake!
2. I praise God that I was still able to sit down and enjoy the baseball game tonight, even after all the work I did. It was nice to be able to enjoy that time with my husband and son.
3. I praise God for the balance I felt today. It was a good day.

manual labor
1. I praise God that my mom got married today. I am thankful she has found someone she wants to spend the rest of her life with.
2. I praise God for another productive day of manual labor with my husband. We had to work around my mom's wedding, but we were able to get some stuff accomplished today.
3. I praise God for the good night of sleep I received last night and hope to receive tonight. Manual labor sure does make for a good night's rest.

manual labor
1. I praise God for the time my husband and I spent together working in the back yard this evening. It is the first time in years that we have done manual labor together. I forgot how much I enjoyed it. Also, I was able to be very helpful to him in the projects he has been tackling. I am thankful I was able to be a blessing to him.
2. I praise God for the deepening friendship my husband and I are experiencing. I feel like I am getting my best friend back.
3. I praise God for giving good gifts. He knows my heart's desires even more than I do.

1. I praise God for my life. I am blessed in so many ways.
2. I praise God that He is faithful.
3. I praise God that my grandma and grandpa are in town. I am really looking forward to seeing them and to them seeing my family. I haven't seen my grandpa in almost 6 years.

my sweet husband
1. I praise God for my sweet husband. He surprised me with a bouquet of flowers earlier today. It wasn't anything lavish, but they were my favorite type of flowers: "just because I was thinking of you" flowers. =) I am a blessed woman.
2. I praise God for my very messy family room that I have been procrastinating on cleaning this evening. There are toys everywhere but I don't have the energy to get up. I am thankful that I will have to get up and clean it before I go to bed for multiple reasons: all the toys are indicative of the blessings in my sons life and because I actually possess the ability to get up and clean.
3. I praise God for my husband's growing patience with me. I am not always the easiest person to live with (or love) but he is really making the effort to be patient and it is showing. I am very glad for that. =)

exciting things.
1. I praise God that my husband's grandma came over for dinner tonight. She lives out of state, so it was a special treat to be able to have her over. I love spending time with grandparents.
2. I praise God that the World Series starts tomorrow. I am so excited!
3. I praise God for the new book I received today, One Thousand Gifts. I have heard a lot of great things about it and am very excited to read it.

day 80.
1. I praise God that I know Him. Knowing Him has kept me out of a lot of trouble in my life and I am so thankful I came to a relationship with Him early in my life. 2. I praise God that I was able to be a blessing to my husband today. He was in a foul mood and very stressed when I came home from work, but I gave him a chance to vent and a quick back/shoulder/neck massage, and he was in a much better mood.
3. I praise God for the cold front that is coming in. I love crisp fall mornings and the forecast is calling for a week of them.

1. I praise God for days when I don't feel so well. They help me to appreciate the days I do feel well.
2. I praise God for my Wii Fit. I really enjoy using it for my work out and am looking forward to yoga in the morning.
3. I praise God for my husband and my son. I love them so much and life wouldn't be the same without them.

oh, yeah!
1. I praise God that my kitchen window overlooks the western horizon. Every night, I have a wonderful view of the sunset. It is so amazing to watch God's amazing art work every evening (especially when I am washing dishes.)
2. I praise God that the Texas Rangers are such a classy team. They clench the ALCS and start celebrating with Ginger Ale because of Josh Hamilton's past with alcoholism. That is just classy and makes me proud to cheer for a team with character like that.
3. I praise God that I have been witness to such amazing baseball this week. Even if my team hadn't have won, it has truly been some incredible baseball and I am so thankful I was able to witness it.
4. I praise God that He never gives up on me. Some days, I need a lot more help than others, and He is always there, ready to pull me through.

the days keep passing, I keep praising...
1. I praise God that my husband and son have such a great relationship. It is so much fun to watch them play and it warms my heart when they are sweet to each other. I love to just watch them interact.
2. I praise God that tomorrow is Saturday. My son has been sleeping a little later in the mornings, so I am looking forward to all of us sleeping in tomorrow. When we wake, I believe I'll be making pancakes.
3. I praise God that I am able to learn more and more about Him daily. He is so amazing and I am even more convicted of that with the more I learn.
4. I praise God for the little opportunities to minister. They are all around and I am so thankful when I notice and act on them.

love
1. I praise God that my son "helped" me in the kitchen tonight. We washed dishes and made Shrimp Alfredo together. He really wasn't able to do much, but he had so much fun with the little bit he could do and I had so much fun teaching him. What a great way to get quality time.
2. I praise God for my job. It allows me the opportunity to educate and help people. The better I do my job, the more people I am able to help. It's often a difficult job, but when I am able to help someone, it makes it worth it.
3. I praise God for His unconditional love. It is such a hard concept to wrap my mind around some days, but it is so wonderful to know that nothing can separate me from His love.

stuff to cheer about...
1. I praise God for baseball. I really do love that sport, especially when it is played well. I am so thankful that my life allows me to enjoy it.
2. I praise God for my little family. I love my husband and my son very much and I know I am such a blessed woman to have what I have with them.
3. I praise God for His guidance. His path is always much more successful than mine.
4. I praise God for His forgiveness. The more I understand it, the more thankful I am for it.

brain lapse
1. I praise God for quickly answered prayers. Sometimes, when I need an answer to a prayer *right then* God obliges. I had one of those moments today and I am so thankful He answered so quickly.
2. I praise God for courage.
3. I praise God for the woman who watches my son. I packed his diaper bag and lunch box, but left them sitting next to the door. Thankfully, she had diapers and wipes and food! Even more of a praise, we were able to laugh about our brain lapses together this morning.
4. I praise God that my son's diaper bag and lunch box are ready to go for tomorrow, thanks to my brain lapse.

wow
1. I praise God that I was able to witness Nelly Cruz's walk-off, grand slam tonight. I have to say that was one of the most exciting moments in baseball history for me! I was literally jumping up and down in my living room celebrating!
2. I praise God that He is continuing to mold me. It's not easy, and often uncomfortable, but it makes me such a better person.
3. I praise God for His wisdom. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." James 1:5 AMEN!

muddy paw prints
1. I praise God for muddy paw prints on my kitchen floor. Not that I love the paw prints all over my floor, but that they are evidence of all the rain we have received over the last day and a half. I am so incredibly thankful for this wet weather.
2. I praise God for my mini, impromptu "stay-cation." When I decided to take this past Friday off, I was just intending to have a day off for a break. It turned into a 3-day "stay-cation" at my house, relaxing and spending quality time with my boys. I could use another 30 days of that, but I am so thankful this weekend worked out the way it did. It was much needed.
3. I praise God that no one can go too far from being able to turn back to God. I know not everyone who wanders from Him returns, but He is always one step back and I am so thankful for that. I just pray someone very near and dear to me realizes that truth sooner rather than later.

rain.
1. I praise God for the rain we are getting. It is delaying the ball game, but I have been praying daily for rain, so I am thankful for the answer to prayer.
2. I praise God for the strength that comes with faith in Him. It is amazing the things He can bring someone through.
3. I praise God for another (mostly) restful day today. It has been much needed.

rest
1. I praise God for the day of rest I had today. After a long night's rest, I had a very relaxing day with my husband and son; we even got to have a family nap! I am on the road to being refreshed.
2. I praise God for His provisions. It is comforting when I know I can trust Him to provide. "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things." Matthew 7:31-32
3. I praise God for the excitement of this year's postseason baseball. I have had so much fun following all the different teams this year and am really looking forward to seeing what the rest of the season holds.

sleeping past the deadline...
Well, last night I fell asleep before I had a chance to do my post for the day. My husband was on the computer and we were listening to the Yankees/Tigers game on the radio and I just fell asleep on the couch waiting for him to get off the computer. I didn't wake up until 2am when I went from the couch to my bed, where I continued to sleep until 8am this morning! I definitely needed the rest! However, now I need to do my post from yesterday this morning.
1. I praise God for the 3 day weekend I get to have. I (obviously) need some rest and decided to take a personal day on Friday. I have no major plans or things to do, so I am hoping I can go back to work Monday refreshed.
2. I praise God that our EXPO finally happened and went well. We had a good turn out of vendors and community members. I talked until my throat was sore and then kept talking to even more people. So happy all the months of planning were worth it.
3. I praise God for the children of the woman who watches my son. Three of them volunteered to help at our EXPO yesterday and they were so wonderful. They were so helpful, respectful and kind; they even thanked me for the opportunity to volunteer! Kids like them are hard to come by these days and it makes me so joyful to know them.

i "heart" baseball
1. I praise God that my son has the same love for baseball that his father and I share. I can see many years of fun revolving around baseball for my family and that makes me happy.
2. I praise God that tomorrow is the big EXPO my colleagues and I have been planning. It seems like it has been so long coming and now it is finally here! I pray that all goes smoothly and that we have a good turnout!
3. I praise God for the courage to step out in faith. It can be scary, but I know I can trust Him.

counting blessings.
1. I praise God that the mortgage payment my husband and I made this month put us at the half-way point of having our house paid off! Our house may not be much, but in 30 more payments, it is ours.
2. I praise God for the amazing chicken my husband grilled tonight. Dinner was so wonderful and it was very much a result of his grilling skills. On that note, I praise God that I don't have to worry about where my family's "next" meal is going to come from.
3. I praise God that we are financially stable. Sometimes pennies can get tight, but we always are able to make ends meet. I know what a huge blessing that is.

pretty good Monday.
1. I praise God that I was finally able to use my gift certificate for a car wash today. I received the gift certificate as a reward for work back in April and haven't had the chance to use it until today. Now my car is all nice and shiny and the inside is clean and smells like baby powder (that was the scent I chose.) It's SO nice and I am SO thankful.
2. I praise God that my son shares my love for pizza. Tonight it was just the two of us for dinner and we had pizza. We were both very happy about it. =)
3. I praise God for His sovereignty. It is so comforting to know that He is in complete control.

good stuff.
1. I praise God for the blessings that have come from that rescue dog. I called and spoke with the family that adopted him today and they are so happy with the dog. The teenage boy actually wanted to get on the phone with me and tell me how much he appreciated the dog and what a blessing the dog has been to him already. This family truly was an answer to prayers for this dog and I have a feeling this dog was an answer to prayers for that boy. God is so neat when He works things out like that.
2. I praise God for relaxed Sunday evenings spent playing in the back yard with my husband and son. What a perfect way to end the weekend.
3. I praise God for conviction. It's not always the easiest thing to accept, but when I allow God to work on the things He is convicting me on, I am able to grow and become a better me.

answered prayer.
1. I praise God that the rescue dog now has a home. The people who were interested decided to adopt him today! YAY!! I am SO happy!
2. I praise God that my son has started asking me to kiss his “owies.” It is so cute when he comes up to me expecting a kiss on his knee or hand because he has slightly injured himself and thinks my kisses make it better. How I treasure this time in his life.
3. I praise God for His continued forgiveness. I find myself in need of it daily, some days even more so than others. I am so thankful that His forgiveness is always there for me.

lateness.
I'm late in doing this "today" because I've been spending time with my husband instead of my computer.
1. I praise God for my husband's ability to play guitar. I love listening to him play. He has been playing for me for over 8 years now. =)
2. I praise God that a very large project I have been working on with some work colleagues will be completed next week. It will be a huge relief to have all this hard work be completed and behind us.
3. I praise God that I may have found a home for the rescue dog we have been "fostering" for the last couple of months. We will be meeting with the woman and her son tomorrow to see if they like him. I will be praying they are a good match.

yesterday's news...
Last night our internet was being stupid, again. (I sure do love our ISP...) As a result, I just typed my praises for yesterday into a Word document to later be copied and pasted. Here is the result of said efforts:
- I praise God for dinner time with my husband and son. We sit down as a family, my husband says Grace and we enjoy a meal together. So many blessings.
- I praise God that my husband takes the time to teach our son. He makes everything he teaches him into a game and they have fun together. He teaches him everything from numbers to grilling. It helps our son with his education and the quality time will make a difference in the man he becomes.
- I praise God that my hospital is doing so well right now. We have been full all week long. High census=job security. =)

growing and learning
1. I praise God for my son's sitter and her family. They have been such a blessing and my son adores them. He gets excited the days he gets to go to their house and that makes me feel so much better about being a working mom.
2. I praise God for the daily trails we face. They aren't all earth-shattering, but each one has it's own difficulties it creates in our lives; in the same moment, each has it's own lessons to be learned and opportunities for growth.
3. I praise God that my son is growing so well. He started out only 3lbs, 8oz at birth and is getting bigger and bigger every day. It amazes me to see how much he has grown and it makes me so thankful that I am able to witness it.

1. I praise God for the delicious dinner my husband and I created tonight. It was so delicious. I am so thankful that I am able to enjoy eating.
2. I praise God for His faithful love. The more I learn of His love, the more I understand how to love.
3. I praise God for His continued healing.

a day to truly praise.
1. I praise God for the healthy delivery of my newest niece. My sister-in-law delivered her this afternoon and all is well with both of them. Her stats are as follows: 6lbs 14oz, 19 1/2in long, born at 4:21p.m. CST. This was my sister-in-laws third all-natural delivery and I hear she did it like a champ! She is an amazing woman that way. I am so eager to meet the newest baby of our family!
2. I praise God for my husband's helpfulness. This morning he helped get our son ready for the day; I was running late, so it really made a difference in how my day went. I am so blessed to have a helpful husband.
3. I praise God for the weather being cooler. My son and I can play outside in the evenings again. It is so much fun to watch him explore the world and it gives him a great chance to burn a lot of energy so he sleeps well!

happy days.
1. I praise God that I was able to go to church today. Due to many other things, I have missed the last 4 weeks! It felt like an eternity since I have been. It was so nice to be back today; great worship, great sermon. I am so glad this is the church God has provided for me.
2. I praise God for the fun my son and I have grocery shopping, now. I have learned to utilize that time for quality time with him and it is actually an enjoyable experience--even at WalMart after church on a Sunday!!
3. I praise God for the help my husband provided this afternoon/evening. He took time to work with our son on his numbers, played with him outside while he was grilling dinner and got him ready for bed! If I hadn't have spent all night in the kitchen, I would have felt like I had the night off!
4. I praise God that today was such a lovely day.

comfort
1. I praise God that I can always find comfort in His word. Any time I read my Bible, I feel better.
2. I praise God that I can trust in Him, for He is trustworthy. "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful." Hebrews 10:23
3. I praise God for challenging days. They are opportunities to draw nearer to Him and see His glory.

the weekend is here, again.
1. I praise God for the weekend. My husband and I are taking on some big projects around the house. I have been looking forward to it all week!
2. I praise God that I have learned to "go with the flow." It really has reduced my stress levels to be able to just relax and accept when plans don't always go the way I want them to.
3. I praise God that my husband had the wisdom to diffuse a potential "situation" with some new neighbors. He handled everything so maturely and respectably. It was a stupid nothing that could have escalated had it not been for the way my husband handled the situation. I praise God for the wisdom and patience my husband exhibited.

blessings
1. I praise God for the little miracles He performs every day. He is really amazing.
2. I praise God for giving me the strength to choose to forgive. I have learned that forgiveness is a choice and that it sometimes is a choice that must be made more than once. Some days are harder than others to choose forgiveness, but the blessing from that choice is always worth it.
3. I praise God that I get to watch my son learn new things. It is so exciting every time I hear him say a new word, identify a new number/color/letter or develop a new skill. I just can't explain the joy that comes with seeing this little person that came from my husband and me develop and grow; I am so thankful for it.

back to routine...
1. I praise God for the last few evenings when I have sat out on the front porch and shared a Popsicle with my son. It has become part of our evening routine this week and each day has brought new laughs and memories with it.
2. I praise God for the healing that has occurred with my grandma. She has been in the hospital the last few nights and was really not doing too well. She is doing much better now and I should hopefully be able to talk with her soon.
3. I praise God that I am not living in constant fear of losing my job. In my field, it is too common for people to no longer have a job because they aren't meeting "the numbers." In past jobs of this type, it was always a dreaded reality hanging out in the back of my mind; now, however, I work for a company that sees more than just "numbers" and acknowledges the many other ways I am an asset to them. It was a long, difficult road God brought me down to get here, but I can see the work He was doing through that journey now and it was well worth it.
4. I praise God for the sweet things my husband says to me. He gave me a couple very sweet compliments when I got home from work and they have been bringing a smile to my face all day.

eternal praise
Today, I am going to break pattern. I have been thinking and praying on this for the majority of the day, after reading my pastor's thought of the day. (You can read it, here: http://prayerthoughts.tumblr.com/post/10440778291/thoughts-september-20) Today, I am not going to just list some of the many things for which I praise God, I am going to talk about the most important reason for my praise: my salvation, Jesus Christ.
As I was driving during work today, I drove past a church marquee that read, "Nails did not keep Christ on the cross, love did." It is that love which brings forth praises from my lips. That incomprehensible, unending love that has saved my life. For that, alone, do I owe God eternal praises.
I have many things for which I can praise God, but all of those can be taken away at the swipe of a hand. The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. But, nothing can separate me from God's love. I could loose my family, my friends, all my money and material possessions, my freedom, my health, everything; I would still praise God.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but shall have ever lasting life." John 3:16
That gift was for me, too. When Christ was hanging on that cross, I was on His heart. Me, with all my short comings and failures; He died for me. He died so that I could live eternally in Heaven with God the Creator. There is nothing that can compare to that blessing. For all eternity, I will praise God.

working at it...
1. I praise God that I was able to get so much accomplished this evening. I really didn't do anything in the way of housework all weekend, but I made up for a lot of it tonight. I will have another evening of work ahead of me tomorrow, but then I'll be back on track!
2. I praise God that I took the time this evening to sit on the front porch with my son and share a Popsicle. He has only recently started liking Popsicles (as in, the last couple days) so it was an extra sweet moment we shared this evening. I am so thankful that I am able to take those small moments with my son.
3. I praise God for my comfortable bed. I am really looking forward to it tonight!
4. I praise God for His patience and forgiveness. I am still so far from being the person He desires me to be, some days it can be really discouraging; but He is patient and forgiving, which makes it worth it to keep trying every day.

3. I praise God for my comfortable bed. I am really looking forward to it tonight!
4. I praise God for His patience and forgiveness. I am still so far from being the person He desires me to be, some days it can be really discouraging; but He is patient and forgiving, which makes it worth it to keep trying every day.
post for 09.18.2011
Yesterday evening, we had some actual storms here, and our internet was knocked out until sometime after I went to bed. So, I wasn't able to post yesterday, but I did think of the things I would praise about... Here they are:
1. I praise God for flat tires. I had one yesterday that prevented me from going to church. At first, I was very upset, because I really wanted to go, but it gave my husband and I an opportunity to enjoy a few more "kid-free" hours together. I love my son so much and was ready to see him again, but am thankful for the unexpected time with my husband.
2. I praise God for the rain. It was much needed to have a decent rain.
3. I praise God that our AC waited until the end of summer to die. I am also very thankful that we already have 2 window units installed (they were supplementing the central unit) that are helping to keep the house cool. We don't have the extra money right now to fix/replace our central unit, but we aren't sweltering in a hot box, for which I am beyond thankful.
4. I praise God for the time we spent with my husband's family for my mother-in-law's birthday. It was so nice to get together for a good meal and good company. It was also such a huge blessing to watch my husband playing with our niece and nephews. They always have so much fun with him. I am so blessed to have such great in-laws.

s-a-t-u-r-d-a-y night!
1. I praise God for the "date night" my husband and I got to have tonight. My son is getting to have a sleep over with my sweet mommy tonight. So far, the evening has been perfect. The best date night in a long time.
2. I praise God for my pastor. He is fearless in preaching God's word, but in a very humble and loving way. I am so thankful for his leadership in the church.
3. I praise God for forgiveness. Every day I find how desperately I am in need of it, every day I become more thankful for it.

the simple stuff
1. I praise God that it is Friday night. This week seemed incredibly long and I know He was helping get me through it. (Also, that means tomorrow is Saturday; I really hope I get to sleep in tomorrow morning!)
2. I praise God that I am able to provide wholesome, delicious meals for my family. Even with working full time and having a toddler, we are able to eat a (relatively) healthy, home cooked meal almost every night. I am so thankful that I am able to provide that for my boys.
3. I praise God for baseball. Yup, that's right. Baseball. I love the sport and I am so thankful I am able to enjoy it. If there is a sport played in Heaven, I am pretty sure it's baseball. ;)
4. I praise God for all the "simple" joys in life: a baby's smile, a boisterous laugh, a crisp morning, a cozy "Fall" evening, the smell of coffee... All of those things are made enjoyable by His goodness, and I am thankful for each and every little one of them.
5. I praise God for Enrichment Classes. This is my son's first year, it's only been two weeks and I can already see he is learning. When I went to get him today, he was sitting on the floor with two other kids about his age and an adult, reading a book and learning. He was so interested and I could tell he was just taking it all in. I am so excited to see what God does with future classes. =)

1. I praise God for the cool, damp day we had today. It was such a refreshing day and made for a perfect evening for some more homemade stew. =)
2. I praise God for my little sister. Tomorrow is her birthday. For 25 years, I have had a built-in buddy, frenemy, partner-in-crime... the list goes on. I remember countless fights and even more nights of sharing a bed keeping the boogey man away from each other. She stood beside me at my wedding and I was with her at the hospital when she brought my nephew into this world. We have been angry with each other, laughed until we've peed our pants and found solace in each other's arms when we were sad. She is my oldest friend. I can't remember life without her and I wouldn't want imagine it any other way. It is just amazing the gift God gives in a sister.
3. I praise God that my son said "Jesus" today. I was at work and missed it, but my husband said he was talking to my son about Jesus and my son repeated His name 3 times! It really blesses my heart to know that and I am so eager to hear that beautiful name come from my precious little boy's lips. (It also blesses me to know that my husband talks about Jesus with my son.)
She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. Some days, she's the reason you wish you were an only child. ~Barbara Alpert

still praising 48 days later...
1. I praise God for the rain today. I woke up this morning to it raining at my house; the rain continued until after I left to work. This is very good, as our property is slowly turning into the Mini-Grand Canyon from all the cracks that are appearing in the parched ground.
2. I praise God for my husband's helpfulness today. After I got home from work, he helped with picking up, cooking dinner and getting our son ready for bed.
3. I praise God for the good contacts my co-worker and I made at work today. Successful days like today are very encouraging to us both.
4. I praise God. He, alone, is worthy of my praise. =)

Dancing in the minefields...
Three years ago, today, my husband and I committed the rest of our lives to each other. We have had our fair share of ups and downs, but by the grace of God, we were able to celebrate today and look forward to celebrating many more. In honor of today, all my praises will be in regards to the many ways I am blessed by my marriage.
1. I praise God for my marriage. I know it is a gift from Him, plain and simple. I also know, He is the reason we are still together today.
2. I praise God for my husband. He is my best friend. The only one who knows me more intimately than my husband is my Lord.
3. I praise God that I love my husband more today than I did the day I married him. That is pretty amazing to think of when you consider how some of the things we have been through would destroy most marriages.
4. I praise God for my husband's loving gestures. I am the recipient of them daily, but he has been extra loving today. =)
5. I praise God for the laughter my husband and I share. Again, all the things we have been through together have not taken the laughter from us. I would be missing out on something so fantastic if we couldn't laugh together.
6. I praise God for the way my husband and I compliment each other. In many ways, we are very similar, but in many ways, we are total opposites. The combination works, though.
7. I praise God for the child our love brought into this world. Our son is an amazing gift from God, facilitated by our love for each other.
8. I praise God that my husband tells me he loves me multiple times a day.
9. I praise God that my marriage is stronger today than it was a year ago. I pray God will continue to strengthen us.
"Dancing in the Minefields" - Andrew Peterson (this is my favorite song about marriage)
Well I was 19, you were 21
The year we got engaged
Everyone said we were much too young
But we did it anyway
We got the rings for 40 each from a pawnshop down the road
We said our vows and took the leap now 15 years ago
We went dancing in the minefields
We went sailing in the storms
And it was harder than we dreamed
But I believe that's what the promise is for
Well "I do" are the two most famous last words
The beginning of the end
But to lose your life for another I've heard is a good place to begin
'Cause the only way to find your life is to lay your own life down
And I believe it's an easy price for the life that we have found
And we're dancing in the minefields
We're sailing in the storms
And it was harder than we dreamed
But I believe that's what the promise is for
That's what the promise is for
So when I lose my way, find me
When I lose loves chains, bind me
At the end of all my faith to the end of all my days
when I forget my name, remind me
'Cause we bear the light of the Son of man
So there's nothing left to fear
So I'll walk with you in the shadow lands
Till the shadows disappear
'Cause He promised not to leave us
And His promises are true
So in the face of this chaos, baby,
I can dance with you
So lets go dancing in the minefields
Lets go sailing in the storms
Oh, lets go dancing in the minefields
And kicking down the doors
Oh, lets go dancing in the minefields
And sailing in the storms
Oh, this is harder than we dreamed
But I believe that's what the promise is for
That's what the promise is for

long days
1. I praise God for late nights and early mornings. I know, no matter how long the day, He will get me through it.
2. I praise God that my son is doing so much better so quickly. He slept so well last night and has barely coughed today!
3. I praise God for 3 years of marriage. Tomorrow (09.13.2011) will be 3 years since we promised to spend the rest of our lives together. By God's grace, alone, we have come to this milestone.

(09.11.2011)
My baby boy has croup. =( Last night had minimal sleeping and we did not make it to church today. However, there are still so many things worth praising God for.
1. I praise God for opportunities to learn. Sometimes, it is a hard lesson, but I am always thankful for the wisdom gained.
2. I praise God that my son is not more ill than he is. Other than the coughing, a slightly runny nose and the lack of sleep, I can't even tell he is sick.
3. I praise God that tomorrow is Monday and I get to wake up and go to work in the morning. I am so blessed to have a job where I work Monday through Friday.

busy as a bee
1. I praise God for all I was able to accomplish today. I was feeling completely unmotivated earlier, but I somehow managed to get SO MUCH done today.
2. I praise God for my Andrew Peterson CD, "Counting Stars." It is such an incredible CD and has so much scriptural truth throughout it. Every time I listen to the CD, it lifts my spirits.
3. I praise God that I get to go to church tomorrow. I missed last Sunday and have felt off kilter all week long. I am so excited for tomorrow morning.
4. I praise God for the nice, hot shower I am about to take. My body is sore and dirty from all the work I did today; I am definitely ready for that shower!!
5. I praise God for the beef stew I was able to cook (from scratch) tonight. I have been so busy today that I haven't eaten anything since lunch and I am really going to enjoy a bowl of stew after I get done with my shower! =)

l.o.v.e.
1. I praise God for the joy my son has on his face when he sees me after I have finished working for the day. The excitement and love that pours out is so sweet. I treasure those moments so dearly.
2. I praise God that my husband, son and I were able to go out tonight to celebrate our 3 year anniversary (it is actually not until Tuesday, but tonight's dinner was celebratory, nonetheless.) I cannot begin to explain the many blessings there.
3. I praise God for Scripture. The more I read, the more I desire to know; the more I learn, the more I fall in love with God.

Bad day? Not here.
This day could have been bad, but God is good. =)
1. I praise God that He works in His own time and not mine. His plans are always better than mine.
2. I praise God for the beautiful weather we have been having. I love going out in the mornings and having it be crisp and cool; I know more hot weather is around the corner, and I praise Him for that, too. The hot weather helps me appreciate the cooler days so much more!
3. I praise God that my little boy is growing every day. It is such a joy to watch him change from a little baby into a little boy.
4. I praise God for my curly hair. Even on days like today, when it was completely unruly, I am so thankful for it.
5. I praise God for all the good things He is doing in the lives of people I love. It is so much fun to watch Him work.
6. I praise God for the love and laughter that fills my home. I just can't stop praising Him for that.
7. I praise God for Hyland's Teething Tabs. Not only are they wonderful in helping with teething pain, but when my son accidentally ingested nearly an entire bottle earlier, I didn't have to stress because they are homeopathic. When I called the emergency help line and spoke with a pharmacist, I was informed that he would have to consume AT LEAST 6 FULL bottles before we would have to worry. Thank God we didn't have to make a trip to the ER!

beautiful.
1. I praise God that my joy is found in Him. The circumstances of my life (be they good or bad) in no way affect His awesomeness. He is always good and loving.
2. I praise God that He is growing me daily. There is still so much growth to be had, but each day, I see more of Him and less of me.
3. I praise God for my husband's grilling capabilities. He has it down to an art and my taste buds are very thankful. ;)
4. I praise God that I am daily able to see His beauty in this world. Every moment of the day, if I look for it, I can always see His goodness and His glory.

Voice of Truth
1. I praise God that my son loves taking a bath and going to bed. Our night time routine is almost always the easiest part of our day. I know it's a huge blessing to have a 2 year old boy who loves to get clean and go to bed.
2. I praise God that He works in His own way. We may not always understand the way He does things, but He uses all things for good for those who love Him. (Romans 8:28)
3. I praise God for the wisdom He imparts when I seek Him. He has helped me grow in so many ways over the last couple months.
4. I praise God for the candy bars my husband bought for me today. Sometimes the smallest things mean the most.
5. I praise God for His reassurance. When I start to doubt or fear, He is always there to remind me of His truth.
"Voice Of Truth" Casting Crowns
Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
To the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out his hand
But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. 'Boy, you'll never win!'
"You'll never win"
But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
And the Voice of Truth says "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth
Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a Sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand
But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again "boy, you'll never win!

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them looking down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

Reading
1. I praise God that I have the ability to read. So often, it is something I take for granted, but I know I am so incredibly blessed that I can.
2. I praise God that my son loves books and that I am able to make them available to him. Again, something so easy to take for granted, but a true blessing.
3. I praise God that I am able to read His Word independently. As much as I love listening to sermons, I am so very thankful that I can sit down with my Bible and learn about God on my own time. I have learned so many things through my independent studies; I know I am blessed that I can say that.

Naps and laughter
1. I praise God for naps. Today, while my son was napping, my husband and I decided we would also take a nap. It was so wonderfully refreshing. It's been a long time since we have had a "family nap." It was the best nap I've had in nearly two months.
2. I praise God for the long weekend. I am so thankful that my job permits me to be off on "major" holidays. Even more thankful that I get 8 "free" hours of PTO for the holiday!
3. I praise God for tickle fights. On that note, I praise Him for any kind of family fun "rough-housing" that occurs in my home. I honestly cannot being to express my gratitude for those moments.
4. I praise God that my home has been filled with laughter, again. I know it was only through the work of His hand that this was possible.
5. I praise God for my job. I was just re-reading my list and thinking of how truly blessed I am with my job. It has it's problems, but all in all, I have a wonderful job and I have so many reasons to be thankful for it.
6. I praise God for unconditional love. Only through His grace is it possible that I may receive and, in turn, give it. Such a blessing, words cannot properly explain.
"And she said, 'God has made me laugh, and all who hear will laugh with me.'" Genesis 21:6

Down to the wire...
Whew! Where has this day gone? It's been a long one, but a good one.
1. I praise God for the white chocolate chip oatmeal cookies my husband and I are about to share. They are my special recipe and they are so good. I am thankful I can bake!
2. I praise God for the strength to lead my heart.
3. I praise God for the continued healing He is doing.
4. I praise God for hope. http://prayerthoughts.tumblr.com/post/9701999937/thoughts-september-2 (<---my pastor's thoughts)

(09.01.2011)
So, I'm really not feeling well at all today, but that doesn't mean that my mouth isn't full of praise for God. =)
1. I praise God for my bed. It is so comfortable and I am really looking forward to it tonight.
2. I praise God for all the little things that occur throughout the day that remind me I can put all my trust in Him. He will never let me down and that is such an incredible blessing.
3. I praise God for miracles. He still does them.

few words
1. I praise God for joyful moments with my family. The spontaneous moments of fun that leave us all laughing until our sides hurt are such a blessing to me. I know those moments will be sweet memories.
2. I praise God for His grace. I just can't praise Him enough for it.
3. I praise God for forgiveness. What an incredible blessing it is to receive forgiveness; even more so to be able to give it.
